Our purpose
at Stepping Stones is to provide your child with a loving
atmosphere full of daily learning experiences. Our teachers
act as coaches; cheering your children on and sharing the
exhilaration of their accomplishments!
We use a 'whole child'
and 'sensory' approach to our teaching, based on the idea
that children will use every aspect of their senses and bodies
to learn about the world in which they live. Our teachers
understand that each child is born with an incredible amount
of curiosity and that each child has a unique style of learning.
We provide educational activities that challenge our children
to absorb information and problem solve.
All children develop
socially, emotionally, physically, cognitively and verbally.
We address all of these aspects of growth daily through our
alphabet based lesson plans. We incorporate language, math,
science, art, music, drama, physical activity and creative
exploration into our lessons. Our main units are based on
a letter of the alphabet and then broken down into smaller
units daily; such as dinosaurs, ducks or doctors for the letter
'D'. We use books, art, music, outside visitors and other
related activities involving small and large muscle groups
to teach our children about the topics. From engaging play
with the infants to painting with the preschoolers, our planning
provides a nurturing and stimulating environment where children
can be safe to learn about the world. |
